🧠 Why Understanding Personality Might Be the Missing Piece in Your Activism
Because what if the key to building a stronger team isn’t working harder… but understanding people better?
Before I ever stood on a courthouse lawn or organized a training on hand-counted ballots, I spent 20 years in the direct sales industry. It was there I learned something no campaign flyer or political ad will ever teach you:
✨ People are wired differently. And if you want to inspire them, lead them, or even just get them to return your texts — you need to understand how they tick.
I didn’t know it at the time, but the same people skills I learned while managing teams and navigating every personality under the sun would later become my secret weapon as an activist.
🧩 What if organizing wasn’t one-size-fits-all?
The truth is, we all bring different strengths (and struggles) to the table. Some of us are the spark — energetic, inspiring, ready to rally the room. Others are the engine — detail-driven, behind the scenes, keeping the wheels turning. Some are decisive leaders, and others are the glue holding it all together when things get tense.
And that’s not random.
It’s by design.
🙏 This personality framework is different.
The four personality types we explore in the upcoming Lead with Your Strengths handbook aren’t trendy or corporate. They’re ancient. Rooted in Greek philosophy. Reflected in Scripture. And grounded in the belief that God wired each of us on purpose, for a purpose.
Understanding your type helps you:
Lead more confidently in your lane
Communicate better with people who aren't like you
Avoid burnout by working with your wiring, not against it
Build coalitions with less conflict and more cohesion
