Never before in the history of America has a Speaker of the House been ousted… until yesterday!

I’m not sure what’s more remarkable… the fact that this is a first-time occurrence in the history of the Republic or that Democrats and Matt Gaetz voted for the same thing.

In the event you aren’t paying attention to the news cycle and have no idea what I’m referring to, Rep. Kevin McCarthy was voted out of his position as Speaker of the House on Tuesday. Rep. Patrick McHenry from North Carolina has temporarily taken his place (secretly appointed by McCarthy back in January to do so) and will serve in that capacity until a new speaker is nominated and a new election held… most likely to happen sometime next week.
